Exciting personal news!

As many of you know I've been living in LA for almost two years while my mate of six years, Loren, remained in Ohio. Back in October we were finally able to sell our house and early this month a co-worker returned from maternity leave, finally allowing Loren to aggressively seek employment here in California. Last week he interviewed with three car dealerships and went back to Toledo.

Today we found out he was selected General Sales Manager of an Acura store in Covina! We are beyond excited; it's been such a long time coming, I can believe it! Covina is about 20 miles east of downtown LA, so we plan to look for housing in Pasadena to keep me in reasonable proximity to all things Hollywood.

They want him to start immediately so he's driving out Friday morning with our cat and dog! We drove across the country to get me and my car out here back in '08. It's a long journey to say the least and I couldn't imagine him doing it by himself with animals. Thankfully I was able to find a cheap last minute plane ticket for this morning so I can come right back, via vehicle with them!

Many of you have been supportive of me so I wanted to share this very exciting development! I've spent the past two years getting my feet wet, surviving crazy roommates and doing everything by myself. Now that I'll finally have some normalcy back, I can't wait to take the city by storm! (No pun intended, given our crazy weather lately!)

  1. Abby,

Great news! I know how tough cross-country job searching is, and can't imagine how tough it is right now (unemployment rate, etc.). Yea for Loren! You must be thrilled to be in the same state!

    Congrats!
