The Miss Ohio 2010 MISScellanea Awards: "Nixt Out"

In competitive speech tournaments (known as forensics) the top six places are normally recognized. Sometimes, just for fun they'll announce who was "nixt out." In other words, who was seventh; I guess the phrase is a play on the fact that you were "next out" of the awards. In pageants it's no different. Everyone wonders which young lady just barely missed the next level and as a competitor, you certianly hope and assume it was you!

I can not stress enough that this is in no way meant to be disrespectful to the young women who did make the Top 10 and Top 5 at Miss Ohio 2010. Rather, I think most people would agree this is a common topic. After a pageant, who among us doesn't say "gosh, I'm surprised so-and-so didn't make the..."?

So, who do you think was next in line, just a point away, from making the cut? Not who you hoped it would be, but who was competitively next? Some of you may base your decision on awards, while others believe firmly in consistancy; here are your non-semifinalists and semifinalsit:

Alyssa Waldman & Anna Reis

Ashley Warholic & Cayla Hellwarth

Courtney Monk & Devon Stansbury

Elizabeth Wong & Heather Waterman

Heather Wells & Heidi Negron

Jacquelyn Nichols & Katie Bowen

Kristy Moneysmith & Rebekah Zoz

Sarah Hider & Stephanie Beltz

Semifinalists:

Amber Bussa

Katie Camp & Meggie Wittman

Tera Coleman & Whitney Fricke

[Photos from the Mansfield News Journal. Why the variety of phases? Unfortunately the MNJ doesn't always have great angles of each woman in each competition; I'm trying to use the best possible pictures that I've not already posted in another category.]

  2. OMGoodness! I am so sorry. :(

I corrected it immediately but polldaddy.com says it may take 10 minutes or so for it to show up here on the blog.

I feel horrible; thank you so much for catching my mistake.
