New Year - New Pageants!

Two new open pageants were added to Miss Ohio's spring roster this year! My thanks go out to the directors of each for providing me the following information about their programs. I've listed them by pageant date, but be sure to scroll below, as the application deadline for the second is Saturday!

***
Miss Bay Village
Entry Deadline: February 7th
Pageant: February 28th
Location: Bay High School, Bay Village
Director: Jay Jesensky
Contact: missbayvillage@missohio.org

Bay Village is fifteen miles west of Cleveland on the shores of Lake Erie; the pageant will begin at 7 p.m. with admission of $10.

Miss Bay Village: $500
Additional awards will include Talent, Swimsuit and Interview.
Entertainment is still being finalized.

Director Jay Jesensky is excited to begin his new local and it's traditions; Miss Bay Village will take a traditional "toe dip" at Bay's Huntington Beach, much like Miss America used to do in Atlantic City! (Of course this may not happen directly after the pageant, given Lake weather!) "This is the first year Miss Bay Village will be held and we look forward to many years to come," says Jesensky.

Miss Muskingum Valley
Entry Deadline: JANUARY 10TH
Forum: January 31st
Pageant: March 6th and 7th
Location: Secrest Auditorium, Zanesville
Director: Stina McKendry
Contact: mmvpageant@gmail.com

Contestants, if you need some motivation to get your applications in the mail tomorrow, check out the scholarships:

Miss Muskingum Valley: $2,800
First RU: $1,500
Second RU: $1,000
Third RU: $700
Fourth RU: $500

Five additional Finalists: $200 each
One Interview Award: $200
Two Talent Awards: $300 each
Two Evening Gown Awards: $200 each
Two Swimsuit Awards: $200 each

Additional awards, including Community Service, are pending. In my opinion, one of the best perks is that the pageant is covering each contestant's $100 CMN fee!

Miss Muskingum Valley will receive various other perks including teeth whitening, a diamond encrusted Miss Muskingum Valley pendant valued at $1,000, preparation for Miss Ohio and in-kind scholarships to local schools: up to $4,000 to Muskingum College, $1,000 to Ohio University Zanesville Campus and tbd at Zane State.

Director Stina McKendry explains, "Each contestant will be assigned a hostess to help with any needs that the contestant may have (if the contestant is from out of town, the hostess is willing to provide overnight accommodations, etc..)."

Performers for the two-night pageant include former Miss Ohios Ellen Pasturzak Spinner and Stephanie Meisberger Winland, professional pianist and composer David Tolley, Miss Ohio emcee Mark Schnitkey, area performing groups and local titleholders.

I meant to post this information a day or two ago, but have been under the weather...

As always, I am open to press releases from E.D.s and contestants!
