The Official Statement from Miss California USA's Director

The following was posted on the Miss California USA website:

I am proud of Carrie Prejean’s beauty and placement at the 2009 MISS USA pageant. I support Carrie’s right to express her personal beliefs even if they do not coincide with my own. I believe the subject of gay marriage deserves a great deal more conversation in order to heal the divide it has created.

  2. You know, it's quite interesting that right after this her photo is removed from the main area of the misscaliforniausa.com site and the teen pic is replacing it!!!(& whoever did this was in such a hurry that he/she forgot a letter in the teen's last name.) I say good for her for standing for what she believes in but honestly, I don't believe she was eloquent. As a judge, I have been taught not to judge the girls' opinions but their delivery and I do follow that "rule". It is quite obvious that Hilton made her lose the crown! He is so hateful & nasty!

  3. How is it obvvious that Hilton made her lose the crown? She was 3rd going in to the final round and ended up 2nd. That doesn't make any sense. Her lake of an eloquent answer, or an answer at all, is what cost her the crown. If AZ would have given a decent answer, CA would have ended up 3rd!
