With the belief that 'beauty is as beauty does,' if she raises $500,000 for the St. Baldrick's Foundation by April 11th, she'll SHAVE HER HEAD! A portion of the money raised will also be going to the Children's Miracle Network and the Miss Virginia Scholarship Fund.
I am not at all surprised by this, as Tara is an extraordinary pageant titleholder. She was the goalie for the Penn State women's hockey team and I believe she was also an ROTC cadet at one point... As if her past doesn't already prove the diversity pageant women can (and should) have, this further removes the vanity from the platform efforts of pageantry. Best of luck to her!
*Note, the Miss Virginia board has stipulated that she may only shave her head if the $500,00 goal is met.
